Toonk’s Hangout (Mar 5)

This one is for the kids!

Our children begin to experience academic and peer pressure at an early age. It is never too soon to teach them that a part of celebrating who they are is learning how to intentionally create balance and peace in their lives. As someone who has recently discovered the power of breathing, journaling, and stretching, just to name a few, I see now how imperative those skills are to thrive in a world that doesn’t always make me feel safe and worthy. Imagine what our children can accomplish when they learn these strategies much sooner.

So join Christie, founder of Gutted Fitness, as she performs a live demonstration of multiple methods children can use to practice self-care. For maximum benefit, prepare to be physically active and fully engaged in the process. This session will be fun, lighthearted, and the perfect ending to an exceptional week! If you desire to give this sweet moment to a child in your life, join our session with them during Black Children’s Book Week.

Brief Facilitator Bio: Christie Holland is the founder and owner of Gutted Fitness: a safe space for Black people from urban areas to heal and (re)define what it means to be fit and successful in and out of the hood.
